FRENCH TRAWLER'S CREW RESCUED

After fighting against fog, darkness, and a heavy sea off Beachy Head for three hours, the. Newhavon lifeboat brought ashore early this morning the crew, numbering fifteen, of the French steam trawler Crabe, which is now lyingon the rocks at Birline Gap. When distress signals were heard, the lifeboat and rocket life-saving team set out to render assistance, but the latter could not locate the vessel owing to the fog. The lifeboat ultimately got close to tho Crabe and the crew were transferred. Although tho lifeboat suffered considerable damage,, she regained Newhaven Harbour safoly.
