The Foreign Secretary (Sir Austen Chamberlain), in tho Houso of Commons to-day, said that instructions were being sent to tho British Ambassador in Lisbon to request the Portuguese Government to order a revision of the case of Mr. Brewer, second officer of tho steamer Clan Lamont, who after arrest on a charge of theft of £1 was imprisoned for nine months while awaiting trial in Portuguese West Africa, and was then condemned to 360 days' imprisonment and £18 fine or another 90 days' imprisonment.
