LONG-DISTANCE PLYING

ETJGBY, 30th January. Tho annual formation cruise of tho Koyal Air Forco machines of the Middle-east Command from Cairo' to Cape begins on 12th February. On roaching Nairoba tho machines will carry out co-operativ'o exercises with the King's African Eifles and will procood to Capetown in March. Tho out. ward terminal point is Durban, C3OO miles from Cairo, and on tho return flight tho machines will bo accompanied from Pretoria to Khartoum by tho aircraft of the South African Air Force.
The Fairey long-distanco monoplane, by which it is hoped to ostablish a fresh long-distanco flight record, has ono moro sustained test to mako before it sets out in three stages for South Africa, from where an attempt will bo mado to reach England in .one uontinuous flight.
