GALLANT ATTEMPT AT RESCUE

GISBOBNE, This Day. At an inquest on G. Davidson, who was drowned at Matakoa Point on Sunday, the jury placed on record their appreciation of tho magnificent efforts made by William Gill and Charles Puha, who, at risk to their own lives and under considerable personal difficulties, did everything humanly possible to rescue Davidson.
