A meeting of the executive o£ the Wellington Centre of, the New Zealand Swiminiug Association was held last night, Mr. P. Coira presiding.

The following dates for club carnivals were approved:—Hutt, 16th February; Cartertpn, 14th' February; Hataitai, 23rd February, • -.

■2Ji;'> civic reception will be accorded the visiting swimmers for the national championships on the morning of Saturday, 2nd February.

The following remits for the conference of delegates is to be held in Wellington at the time of the national Championships, were received from the Dunedin Centre:—

"That an instructor be appointed .by the Government in both the' North and South Island to .visit all schools and, instruct teachers and children where necessary."

"That a recommendation be made to the coiincil to prepare and issue a pamphlet on modern lines dealing with swimming in all its phases for the benefit of school teachers and children."'

The chairman stated that he understood that something in the nature of the remits was already on the order paper.
