NATIONAL SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Saturday afternoon next marks the commencement of another national swimming championship meeting. This year the competition will be held under the auspices of the Wellington Centre, N.Z.A.S.A., whose arrangements are well in hand for the handling of some 150 competitors from all over New Zealand. Although the 100 yards men's championship is considered the main attraction, there are six other big events that will provide high-class contests, including the mile for men, 100 yards for ladies, and 220 yards intermediate for boys. With fast times credited to several of the competitors, such as Cameron, Bridson, Lindsay, Stokes, Miss StockJey, and Miss Grant, it is confidently anticipated that new records will be es: tablished in all grades. Inquiries for seating accommodation from outside centres indicate that there will be a big attendance, including a large contingent from Wanganui coming by special excursion train. Proceedings will commence at 2.30 p.m. sharp, and the doors at To Aro Baths will be open from 1.45 p.m. Seats can be reserved at Mr. E. Perry's, Manners street, special concessions being given for session tickets covering the four days on which the championships are to be held.
