PRIVATE AEROPLANE

A SUCCESSFUL TRIAL

Mr. P. Cottrell's mono-coupe aeroplane, made a trial flight yesterday from Gear Island, Captain Bolt being in the pilot's seat. Unfortunately the take-oil' was too short to allow a passenger to accompany the pilot, so that Mr. Cottrell lias not yet had a flight in his own machine. It is Mr. Cottrell's intention to commence his pilot's course of instruction at the Wigram aerodrome in a few days. Probably Captain Findlay will pilot the machine to Christchurch. Mr. Cottrell- will accompany him. Captain Bolt expressed complete satisfaction with the behaviour of the machine during his flight yesterday.
