INVERCARGILL, 27th January.

An effort to have this year's Eoyal Show hold in Southland ig to bo made this week, when delegates to the council of tho Eoyal Agricultural Society meet in. Wellington. This decision was arrived at at a meeting of directors of the Southland Metropolitan A. aud P. Association on. Saturday. One of the directors, .Mr. J. King, said the Royal Show had "been run badly in tho past. Mr. J. Gilkison expressed the opinion that there was no one connected with the Royal Show competent to run the fixture successfully. Ho said there was no need for an expensive central organisation, and in his opinion this should bo scrapped and tho Royal Show run on the lines of tho Motrox>olitnn Show, with special Royal Show classes.'
