■MEETING OPENS TO-MORROW

The scene will be changed to Pahiatua to-morrow for the annual meeting of the Pahiatua Club. The course is quite a good one for a country body, and the acceptances surpass anything of recent years received by tiie club. So far as could be learned, quite a number of horses who

raced at Trcntham last week arc going on to the meeting. As a good deal of ruin j fell in the district, the racing track should be in excellent order. The first race will bo at noon. Ridgemount and Millais represent winning form, Ridgemount in particular having shaped very well against the best class sprinters in his only appearance at Ircntliam Kaihoro and Veronese also had only one rim at Trentham. Kaihoro is smart, and she may be too good for Ridgemount at the weights. Millais may be the best of the rest.
