BUTTER AND CHEESE PRICES.

The New Zealand Dairy Produce Board has received the following market report from its London office, dated 25th January, with last week's prices in parentheses:—

Butter.—New Zealand, salted lS2s to IS-is (184s to 180s), unsalted 186s to 104s (UJO.s to 1965), first whey 178s (178s), second whey 174s (1745). Deliveries New Zealand this week, 1100 tons. In store New Zealand this week, 3050 tons. Australian, finest salted 181s, 183s, to lS4s (182 ato 186s), unsalted 182s to 186s (184s to 188s); Argentine, finest unsalted, 178s to 182s; Danish, 183s f.0.b., 188s to 190s spot (182s, 184s); Dutch, unsalted, 196s to 202s (200s to 2045). Improved demand at end of this week. Retail prices unchanged. Cheese.—New Zealand, white 925, exceptionally 93s (93s to 945), coloured 94s to 95s (95s to 965). Deliveries New Zealand this week, 19,500 crates. In store New Zealand this week, 57,000 crates. Canadian, white 108s to 112s (108s'to 112s), coloured 106s to 110s (100s to 110s); Australian, white 90s to 92s (92s to 955), coloured 90s to 94s (92s to 945); English finest farmers', 142s to 144s (142s to 1445). Market quiet, retail prices unchanged. Turakina commenced discharge butter 21st, and finished 23rd January. Karamea commenced discharge butter on 23rd and cheese on 21st January, finishing 22nd January. The New Zealand Producers' Marketing Association is advised, London, 25th January, as follows:— Butter: Demand is improving. New Zealand, finest 182s to 184s, first grade 180s to 182s; unsalted, 186s to 1945; Australian, 181s to 183s; Argentine, 178s to lS2s; Danish, 188s to 190s. Cheese: Market quiet. Now Zealand, white 925, coloured 94s to 955; Canadian, white 108s to 112s, coloured IOGs to 110s; Australian, white and coloured 90s to 925.

Butter at 184s will give factories an approximate net return f.o.b. New Zealand ports of Is Svicl per lb. Cheese at 95s will give factories an approximate net return f.o.b. New Zealand ports of B%d per lb.
