KING'S HEALTH

ALL INFECTION GONE

OPTIMISM INCBEASES

IMPROVEMENT CONTINUES

British Official Wlr«ltsi. (Received 26th January, 11 a.m.)

, RUGBY, -25 th January. To-day's bulletin concerning th# King's.illness contained one of th# most reassuring signs yet noted. While' stating' that, tho improvement" in Hit Majesty's condition continued, it added that a bacteriological examination showed that tho right chest was now free of infecting organism. Tho fact that an examination has shown, that the organism which caused the infection has .now disappeared from.the right side of tho chest where it had been centred, means that the King is now suffering only from weakness resulting .from tho disease, and that thero> is no longer any trouble from infection. With this removed the King's progress, it is hoped, may continue to be steady.

This news has increased the optimism which has been growing in Palaco circles since the issue of tho last'bulletin at nooii/on Tuesday, in which the doctors recorded their belief that sea air would be good for His Majesty. Today's bulletin gives rise to:tho hopo that the date of tho King's departure for Bbgnor will be settled within the nest few days.

It is, understood at Bognor that the King wiii remain at Craigweil House at least- until after > Easter. Craigweil House has been rented for the King for three months. The length' of his stay will depend to a large extent, on tha progress the King makes while'he is at the seaside.

■No bulletin' regarding the King's health was issued this evening.
