... PAEIS, 25th January. The International Aviation League awarded a. lady aviator's , trophy to Lady Bailey for her London-Cape flight., and an aviator's trophy to Colonel Arturo Forrarin, of Italy, by two votes over Kingsford-Smith. The trophy for air navigation not awarded in 1927 was awarded to Major Eosenthal, commander of the Los Angeles, and the trophy for 1928 was awarded: to Dr. Eekencr, commander of the Graf,Zeppelin. ■ The National trophy for England was voted, to Bert Hinkler, for Australia to Kingsford Smith, and for the United States to Eielson.

LONDON, 25th January. Among the medals of honour for navigators or passengers participating in notable flights are Sir Hubert Wilkins's passenger Eielson, and C. T. P. Ulm, second pilot to Kingsford Smith; Medals also were awarded to Engineeraviator La Cierva, inventor of the auto-giro, and Lady Heath, in commemoration of achievements in 1928.
