A record proiit oil the operations for the year ended 31st December is disclosed by the directors of the Auckland Gas Company. The annual report just issued to shareholders states that the profits, after deducting, working' expenses, cost of repairs and renewals, management expenses, interest, bad debts, depreciation, and other charges, amount to £'89,321. This, witli the balance brought forward, makes a credit to the proiit'and loss account of £129,304, less the interim dividend paid in July of £44,589. The balance to be dealt with is £85,005, and the directors now recommend a dividend for the past year at the rate of 8 per cent, on £1 fully paid shares, and a proportionate amount on contributing shares (las) paid. ' A sum of £40,282 will be carried forward.
