With many opportunities during the past few weeks of striking top form, local athletes and cyclists should be capable of fine performances at the electric light sports meeting to be held at the Basin . Keserve on Saturday night. The cycling, contests promise to b« a feature of the meeting, as the local riders are to be opposed by'two of the Dominion's best performers—T. Oakley (Wairarapa)- arid If. Grose (Canterbury). At Masterton on Tuesday Oakley was in record-breaking form, und AI. ,Gane (Wellington), also beat the New Zealand standard at a recent meeting. Flett, Scarfe, Pearce, Carswell, and others are. also riding well, and all should'contribute to contests of a thrilling order. The' athletic section will also have ita special attractions, and the meeting, promises to be the best to date this season.
