BANK CLERK'S THEFTS

AUCKLAND, Thia Day.
William Frederick Thomas (27), until recently a clerk employed by the Commercial Bank of Australia in Auckland, pleaded guilty in the Police Court to sis charges of stealing sums totalling £507 13s 7d from the bank. He was committed to the Supreme. Court for sentence. Thomas had been: employed by the bank for ten years. In a statement to the police, he admitted that he had converted the money to his own use, and said he Spent it in gambling and luxurious living. The money had all been spent, and he was now without 1 means.
