TRAINING AT RICCARTON
(By .Telegraph.) . (Special to "The Evening Post") CHRISTCHURCH; This Day. The weather was - fiuo for training operations ; at Riccarton this morning, and a fair amount of work was done. The trial grass track was open,ibut the majority of the horses were galloped on the plough, which provided fast going. B. V. Mason's team, -Agrion, Goblin Market, Golden Armour, Honour, and Jaleux, were given useful tasks.on the plough. Prickles and Full Feather galloped six furlongs on the plough at a strong pace. Childsplay showed her customary speed- by reeling off five furlongs on the plough in. lmin 1 2-ssec. This time was equalled later in vthe morning by Silver Paper. Hoylake, with a light-weight up, was responsible for a fast gallop over a mile on the grass, in lmin 40 2-ssec Paperchase was restricted to an easy task on tho plough, covering six fur-1 longs in lmia 21 2-ssec. Quarterdeck and Swoopalong registered lmin 20 2-ssec,for the same journey. Samper Paratus beat Sudden Storm over four furlongs on the plough in BOsec. Pahautanui and Desert Song were seen to advantage in a half-mile sprint on the grass in 48 4-ssec. Aspiring strode over a like distance on the plough in 49 3-ssec. , Bofcor went pleasingly over a milo on the plough in lmin 44sec. Amor beat The Viscount over,' an easy six furlongs on the plough. Battle Colours finished slightly better than Beau Gesto-at the end of six furlongs on tho plough in lmin 18 2-5 sec. y Toawai beat Paquita in a similar task i in lmin 16 l-ssee. I Belcaire, receiving a start from Limerick, beat him homo over five furlongs on the plough in lmin 4 2-ssec. Star Kaid covered fivo furlongs on tho grass iv lmin 3 2-ssec. Sir Ronald recorded 52sec for four furlongs on the grass. Chide and Starlight ran six furlongs on the plough, in: lmin, 21 l-ssec.
