Bacteriologists and scientists of twenty States are meeting here to study influenza. They heard a paper pre-' pared by' Surgeon-General Cumming, in which ho declared that a second epidemic with a higher death-rate may follow the present outbreak. SurgeonGeneral Cumming was himself stricken with influenza three days ago.
