INCREASED OUTPUT BUTTER-FAT NEARLY SEVEN AND A-HALF P.C. MORE Misery promise of a record daily produce output is shown in the grading returns iasued monthly this seasqu. The Director of the Dairying Division (Mr. Singleto^i) reports that during the month of December last butter gradings amounted to 12,679 tons, an increase of 0.5 per cent, on that of December, 1927, and cheese gradings totalled 13,271 tons, an increase of 5.S per cent, over the returns for December, 1927. For the live mouths of the season ended 31st December the produce gradjj, compares as follows:— 1925. 1927. 5 months. 5 months. Tons. Tons. Butter ..... ■'43,693 41,488 Cheese 39,601 35,10'J Increase in butter over 1927 pciiod, 5.3 per cent.; increase in cheese, 12.7 per cent. Converted into the butter-fat equivalent, there i» an increase of 7.41 per cent, but-ter-fat for the current season as compared with last season.
