WANGANUI'S INVITATION
The Mayor of Wanganui (Mr. W. J. Kogers) has been in Wellington sinco Thursday night, interesting himself, on behalf of the citizens of Wanganui and surrounding district, in securing a visit from Captain Kingsford Smith and party. Enthusiasm is most intense in AVanganui, and. the utmost disappointment will be ielt should it not bo possible for the aviators to visit the city. Yesterday the Mayor of Wanganui interviewed a number of interested people, including the Prime Minister and Major WUkes. Yesterday afternoon the Wanganui Harbour Board carried a resolution heartily supporting the invitation to Captain Kingsford Smith and his party to visit. Wanganui, and expressing the hope that the aviators will honour the city by accepting it.
