Captain Sir Arthur 11. Eoslron, who commands tho Cunard liner Berengarla, has been appointed Commodore of the Cunard fleet in succession to the late Commodore Sir James Charles. Sir Arthur, who is 59, joined the Cunard service in 1895. Ho lias received many honours. Tor his rescue work in the Carpathla (when tho Titanic was sunk) he was received by President T.ift at the White House, Washington, and presented with a letter of thanks. Later ho was presented by President Taft with the Congressional Medal of Honour—the highest honour which tho United States could confer. During tho war Sir Arthur rendered distinguished service in connection with the carriage of troops both to tho Dandanelles and across the Atlantic. He commanded tho Mauretania when she was a hospital ship. He was created a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Emplro In 1920.
