LODGE MEETINGS

The quarterly meeting of Loyal Sister Wallis Lodge, Manchester Unity, 1.0.0. F., was held recently, Sister Parnell, N.G., presiding over a good attendance. One candidate was initiated. Favourable reports were received from sick visitors and accounts passed for payment. The resignations of Sisters E. M'Farlano and E. Tobin, delegates to the Dispensary Board and Medical Institute, were accepted, liro. Jorgenson was elected delegate for the Dispensary Board. Bro. J. L. Stewart, N.G., presided over the quarterly meeting of Loyal Britannia Lodge, Manchester Unity, L0.0.F., held recently. Word was received with regret nf the resignation of Dr. Josephs, lodge medical officer, who is leaving New Zealand. Dr. Bull was appointed in his stead. The trustees handed in their dispensary report, which was received and discussed. Challenges were received for the billiard and card tournaments. During the 'initiation service l'.G.'s Bros. Kennedy and A. J. Williams acted as conductors. ! The usual moating of the Loyal Victoria Diamond Lodge, Manchester Unity,' 1.0.0.1., was held last week, the N.G. (Bro. E. E. Whyman) presiding over a good attendance. One candidate was initiated, and one was proposed for membership. It was decided to write Bro. E. 11. Jones a letter of sympathy in connection with his recent bereavement. The secretary was instructed to forward to Bro. Stevenson, Otaki, a letter of recommendation, he having recently been chosen out of Ml) applicants for the position o£ butter-maker at the Masscy College, Palmerston North. The quarterly meeting of Loyal Antipodean Lodge, M*jaehester Unity, L0.0.F., was held last week, Bro. G. H. Snellin;;, N.G., presiding over a splendid attendance. Two candidates were initiated. Arrangements were made for a committee to proceed with a Christinas tree festival. Members extended a hearty welcome with lodge honours to Bro. F. J. R. Gledhill, P.D.G.M., who is at present on a visit to Wellington. In his reply Bro. Gledhill thanked members for their warm wel-j come. After business had beeii transacted an oliicial visit from town and suburban lodges was reecived. Bro. K. Cropp, F.S. of Loyal Rose of Sharou Lodge, Upper Ilutt, replied on behalf of tho visitors. The lodge then adjourned for dancing, Bro. Quirk providing the music. The quarterly meeting of Loyal Isewtown Lodge, Manchester Unity, L0.0.F., was held recently, N.G. Bro. Johns presiding over a good attendance. One new member was initiated, Bro. Archer acting as conductor. N.G. Bro. L. Angelini presided over a good attendance at the quarterly meeting of Loyal Mangatainoka Lodge,. Manchester Unity, L0.0.F., held, at Pahia&w on 20th August. The meeting stood in silence as a mark of respect to the memory of the late Bro. J. Brown. A visiting brother who attended was welcomed. Loyal Rose of Sharou Lodge, Manchester Unity, L0.0.F., held its fortnightly meeting at Trentham last week, Bru. C. Boult, N.G., presiding over a large gathering. P.G. Bro. Cropp gave a report of ins visit to Antipodean Lodged One candidate was nominated for membership. Court Lady Glasgow, No. 8261, A.0.F., held its fortnightly meeting last Tuesday, C.R. Sister Vcra Smith presiding over a good attendance. Four candidates wene initiated, and one was proposed for admission at next meeting. Members of Court Lady Glasgow paid o/licial visits td the brother lodges, such having proved a great success. There was a good attendance at the weekly session of Pioneer Lodge, Mo. 1.1,, 1.0. G.T., held last week, Acting C.T. Sister 1 Dovcreaux presiding. Greetings were received from Sister Dniry, who is now in Christeburch. After business had been dispensed with the lodge went iuto harlnony. Vocal and musical items were given by Sisters Mardon, King, Free, and Free, junr., and Bro. An farce. The weekly meeting of Tua Torn Lodge, P..A.0.8., was held last week, there being a good number present. Tho chair was occupied by W.P. Bro. Noad, X.0.M., who, as soon as business was over, placed the lodge in harmony, Bro. King presiding at the piano. The items of Bros. Willmot, C.P. Hcarn, K.O.M. G. Hearne, Pink, Cox, and Lang were well received, and a very pleasant evening was spent.
