SAMOAN WOMAN DUPED
VICTIM OF CONFIDENCE MAN
(From "The Post's" Representative.) SYDNEY, 10th August. A Sainoan woman, said to be of high rank, whose married name is Louise Thieme, figured in a- case in tho Sydney Police Court tho other day, as a result of which Richard Aldersey, aged 20, who had, the police stated, lived by his wits, will live by the sweat of his brow for the next six months. Aldersey pleaded guilty to imposing upon Louise Thieme, anil obtaining £50 from her. The. woman, who is'on her way to Germany, met Aldersey in New Zealand and they travelled to Sydney on the same boat. Aldersey,posed as a. representative of Pa rice, Davis, and Co., in New Zealand. Suave and ingratiating, he persuaded her to "lend" liim JCOO while they were guests at the Hotel Me.tropole. Then he disappeared, and .detectives later located him at the Hotel Hydney. Her spending silver seriously depleted, Mrs. Thieme had to cal.de home for more. But she has since resumed her travels. She left for the Continent a fortnight ago.
