HEAVY INCREASED OUTPUT

The Dairy Division of the Department of Agriculture reports that salted butter graded August, 1928, was 2341 tons, and unsalted 11 tons, a total of 2852 tons compared with 2233 tons salted and 13 tons unsalted. a total of 2246 tons for August o! last year; an increase of 26.9 per cent. Tho cheese graded August, 1928, comprised; White 420 tons, coloured 335 tons, a total of 755 tons compared with 166 tons white ami ISO tons coloured, a tola! of 346 tons, an increase of 115.2 per cent. Converting these figures into buttcrfat equiv alent there is an increase of 33.03 per cent of buttcrfat production for tho month, as compared with August last year. Stocks held in the various grading ports at 31st August, 1928, were: Butter 2211 tons, cheese 809 tons, as compared with 1889 tons butter and 686 tons cheese held on 31st August. 1!127.
