TO-MORROW'S MATCH

The Eugby football representatives of Hawkes Bay and Wellington aro to meet at Athletic Park to-morrow afternoon, and, although some of the leading players of both unions are not on hand, there is every prospect of a good game. On the last occasion I Hawkes Bay and Wellington ■ met at Napier, the Bay, then holding the Ranfurly Shield, had a runaway victory over Wellington. Since then the teams have changed "very materially, and there is no likelihood of a repetition of the 102G debacle. Included in the Hawkes Bay team for to-morrow's match are the two Gemmells and Wilson, who made the overseas tour with the Maori team, and S. Smith, who was in the Maori team which toured New Zealand. . Steere (in the New Zealand team at Dunedin), Dennis, Campbell, J. Blake, and South are not on hand for the match with Wellington. The Wellington team will be without Porter, Mackay, and Mackenzie (who are at Dunedin for the second Test with New South Wales). Tor all that, the players on both sides should be capable of supplying football well up to' representative standard. There should be interesting preliminaries to the big match with Johnsonville and Oriental appearing in the final of the senior B grade "knock-out" competition and the junior champions of Wellington and Wairarapa trying conclusions. The latter teams are Poneke and Greytown respectively. The Hawkes Bay and Wellington teams have been selected as follow:— HAWKES BAY. Full-back, Yates; three-quarters, Huxtable, M'Donald, S. Smith; five-eighths, Setford, Botherway; half-back, Anstis; wing-forward, S. Gemmell; forwards, J. Gemmell, Strachan, Wilson, Heffernan, M/Kay, Pearson, O'Dowd. Emergencies: Kelly (back) and M'Neill (forward). Mr. E. M. Hewitt is manager of the Hawkes Bay team, which is also accompanied by Mr. N. M'Kenzie (selector).
