SERGEANT' M'HOLM
—I ♦' : (Special to "The Evening Post.") CIIRISTCHUECH, -This -Day. A large and representative .gathering lof citizens assembled, at Ly^tclton last night to bid farewell to- Policc-Ser-goant J. W. M'llplm, who has boen transferred to Lower Hutt. The Mayor; Mr. F. E. Button, made presentations'to Mrs. and 'Sergeant M'Holm, and paid a tribute to.Sqrgeant M'Holm as a citizen and a sport. Representatives of. amateur athletes in Canterbury entertained Sergeant M'llolm at the Pioneer Sports Olub, when references were made to the splendid work ho had done for athletics. As hammer-thrower, Sergeant M'llolm has been Australasian champion three times, New Zealand champion nine tiine^ and ho gained second plnce in the l/iig)ish championship when travelling to Europo as manager of Randolph ttose.
