MARIST AND PETONE WIN v LOCAL SEMI-FINALS j RESULTS AT A GLANCE.
The main' attractions iv Saturday's Association football games were the Ghatham Cup local, semi-finals between, l'ctone and V.M.C.A. and Marist and Hospital. The winners were Petone and Marist, and these two teams arc to play off to decide which club shall represent Wellington against other North Island clubs in the competitio.n. Petone won in a most convincing fashion, defeating V.M.C.A. by, 4 goals to nil. The other game was move evenly contested, and though ; Marist won, they did not score the winning goal until almost on the call, of time. 'Hospital'ledat half-time, and Marist equalised halfway through the second spell.- Neither /side gave, a brilliant exhibition of football, but the match was a gruelling one. lv.the championship, Thistle easily defeated Institute, but Seatoun sprang a surprise by drawing with Diamond. Seatoun held an advantage for practically the entire game. At half-time they led 2-1, but Diamond equalised in the last fifteen minutes of play. By drawing with Diamond beatoun scored their first point in this season's championship games.
