SHOP. FRONT DAMAGED : ' (By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post") . ■•■■'• AUCKLAND, This Day. ; " A twb-seatef motor-ear, containing two men and two, ■women, and driven by 'V. G. Harkens, of Mount Albert, crashed into a fruit shop, belonging to C. Horscroft at Onehunga on'Wednes-. day night. The accident happened at about 12 o'clock. ' \ Harkens stated afterwards that he waa turning into Trafalgar street when his car. skidded and crashed, into the shop at the ■ corner. The car caught the double doors at the corner and threw one of them into the shop; then it smashed a plateglass window^ The impact threw the wholo shop front out of alignment. .... / "Constable W. A. Rathie was on duty at the corner;'and was in the act of trying the shop .door to see if it was properly secured when he was caught by the motor-car'and: thrown on to the l'pad. \He received a great shock, and his right hand was injured. The motorcar escaped with slight damage.
