SCOTTISH CLUB
The Scottish Club held a flve-milo- test race at Miramar in view of the coming selection of the team for the 'Wellington provincial crosscountry championships. The starter, !l-s. Bollons, sent twenty-foiir .runners away. The first pack had two minutes from the "■_•' pack, with the fast pack giving away seven minutes on tbe "C" team. Bramlcy, Thompson, and Boyes soon set a fast pace, and at the golf links they had a quarter of a mile advantage from the rest of the field. EnterIng the straight, Bramley and .Thompson were left to fight it out: In a great finish Bramley won by five yards from Thompson. Boyes, fifty yards away, filled third place. Fastest times were as follow: Wood, 32mln 38sec; Zander, 33mln 6sec; Smith, 34min 18sec.
