At Zagreb,' the Croatian capital," crowds demonstrated before the- house of Stephan Baditch, who was reported to be dead. T. Eaditeh, a deputy, attempted to calm the gathering, which quietened after hearing that Stephan was alive. n , The police, fearing excesses, began dispersing, the crowds, resulting in disorder. A procession of young nien, marching behind a Croatian . banner draped with crepe, was followed by a, huge assembly, whom the police in attempting .to disperse repeatedly charged. The crowd responded by pelting the police with stones and cudgelling them. Cavalry turned out and charged the mob. The disorders lasted for hours, recurring in different parts of the city. Finally, tlio police charged and appeals by; deputies resulted in dispersion of the crowds.. ■ '
