RONGOTAI COLLEGE,
-The Rongotai College Parents' Association met on Thursday, Mr. A. A. Gellatly presiding. The report of the committee .wjiich was set up in March stated that'during its term of office, socials, a card evening, and a concert had been held, in order to bring the parents together. A scheme of tree-planting for the grounds had been formulated, a half-crown for a tree had been received from each -of eighty-two boys, and at a future date a "tree-plant-ing day" would be held; each tree to bear the name of its donor. A deputation from the association had met the Minister of Education' (the Hon. R. A.1 Wright), who informed them that Cabinet had made a grant for improvements to the grounds. The Mowing officers were elected: — President, Mr. A. A. Gellatly; vice-pre-sidents, Colonel Avery and. Mr. H. Lang; secretary, Mr. N, E. Jacobson; treasurer, Mr. E. D. Richards; committee, Mesdames Avery,-Mitchell, Ballard, Connell, Buodic, Pownall, and Bock, and Messrs. l'launty, Rowntree, Wilson, Keith, Bond, •Parsons, and Morrison; hon. auditor, Mr. Bock.
