ARTCRAFT THEATRE,
Madge Bellamy comes to the Arteraft Theatre to-nicht in "Ankles Preferred," a stirring com-edy-drama of metropolitan life. She is surrounded by an excellent cast, including Lawrence Cray, .1. Pan-ell Mac Donald, Allan Forrest, Barry Norton, and Joyce Compton. In this story of modern American life, Miss Bel' lamy starts as a wage-earner in a metropolitan store, rises rapidly to better tilings, and then faces defeat and humiliation when she is given tho position of entertainer of out-uf-town buyers. She wins happiness in the end, but slid is made to realise that peace of mind is won only as a result of earnest labour along legitimate lines. A further episode (if "The Collegians" will also be shown, and there is an- excellent supporting programme. ■
