A HARD YEAR
(Special to "The Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, This Day. The past year has been an extremely hard one for the Auckland /Provincial. Patriotic and War ' Relief Association, appeals for ■ assistance having been numerous. Reporting ito tho annual meeting of- the association, the executive stated that the organisation had once more been of v;ery real assistance to those returned men and their dependants who come within the scope of the association's operations. Disbursements on all accounts during the year totalled £16,686 18s 3d, of which the principal items were as follow:— Auckland Claims Board, £7436; provincial branches, - £757; Permanent Disabled Soldiers' Board, £2893; local relief B fund, £3183. The year oponed with a credit balance of £142,202. Interest on investments amounted to £6836 and donations £20. A sum of £700 was received from the National War Funds Council to be. exnpiuW m the relief of unemployed returned soldiers. These amounts ' of £,149,758 19s ,7d.
