DULL WEATHER
♦ — CONTINUANCE LIKELY There has been little change during the last tweuty-four hours m barometric pressure, the intense anti-cyclone remaining centred in the neighbourhood of the Chathams and the cyclone in the southern Tasmau Sea decreasing somewhat in- intensity. The weather generally has been cloudy, misty, and unsettled, rain falling in most districts. Wellington, however, has escaped the rain, as well as the strong north-easterly winds which have been experienced elsewhere. The indications point to a continuance of north-easterly to northerly winds, reaching gale force at times in places in and south o£ Cook Strait. The weather is likely to remain unsettled, V'ith ■ much cloud and mist. Rain is probable in most districts, but tho easterly portions of tho North Island are likely to escape with only a scattered fall.
