COMMUNITY FESTIVAL

A Community Festival- •was held last Saturday in the Worser Bay Church Hall, and proved a conspicuous success. The afternoon session was formally opened by tho Rev. C. 0. Hailwood. Exhibits were displayed in the main hall, and in the adjoining classrooms afternoon tea was available. The awards were as follow: —Drawing in chalk of fruit (under 8 years): Brien Chisholm 1, Joan Clark 2,' Joan Sharp highly commended. Writing (Standards 1. and II.):- Stuart Huntington 1. Writing (Standards 111. and IV.): Eric Sharp 1, Jock Lancaster %■ Essay (under 14 years): Barbara Silver 1, Norman Chisholm 2. The evening session was devoted to musical and elocutionary competitions, many of the items being'of a high order.
