CADET CHAMPIONSHIP (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) , - ■ OAMARU, 30th May. ' By annexing the Campbell , Statuette, C Company, Oamai'u Cadets, is the champion Cadet company in New Zealand. This announcement was made by the adjudicators, .Major Nicholls, Major Jennings, and Captain DaviSj at the conclusion of the judging of the physical training, infantry; and musketry. The company .also won the Colonel Bauchop Memorial Shield for the best Cadet company in Otago, and the Passnlore Shield for the-best Cadet company in the South Island. "I have to congratulate the company on itd excellent work, a sample of which has be?n seen to-night," said Colonel M. M. Gardner, D.S.Q>, Officer Commanding tha .Southern Command. "I congratulate Oamaru." The board had had difficulty in adjudicating, Wanganui being second and Auckland third. Colonel Gardner presented the New Zealand army championship belt and medal to Corporal. H., Syirion, B Company,. First Battalion, Otago Regiment, won at Trentham at the last army frifle meetings.
