After a special meeting the shipowners announced that several of,the Watersido Workers' Federation's questions had been considered,'but so far as the owners were concerned there were no developments. ' . ■ It is stated that the : watersiders now have withdrawn from the negotiations with tho owners, leaving the matter in Mr: Tudehopo's hanos. / The' owners, however, are determined not to negotiate with Mr. Tudehope until the cooks resume work. Tho crew of tho steamer Canberra have been paid off, indicating . that there is little likelihood of a settlement. • ■
