BIG BATTLE DEVELOPING British Official Wireless. RUGBY; 29th May. Telegrams from Chinese centres anticipate that an, extensive battle is developing along the line Paoting, Hochien/and Tsangtow, which lies about seventy miles south of Pekin and Tientsin. The Northerners are reported to be counter-attacking on both the PekinHankow and Tientsin-Hankow railways, and claim successes against the Shansi troops on the former and against the Feng-Yu-hsiang's cavalry on. the latter. Feng and Chiang Kai-shek are said to bo receiving reinforcements, and the' troops under different commands in tho area are estimated at half a million.
