A cablegram published yesterday stated that M. Venizelos had offered to resign the. leadership of the Liberals and quit Greece if the Eoyalist Party unreservedly accepted a republic, and that General Metaxas was consulting M. Tsaldaris. A further message said that M. Tsaldaris had rejected M. Venizelos 's .offer.
