Born on Ist January, 1867, the late' Mr. Montague was educated at Oxford and was a director of the '' Manchester Guardian," Ltd., and a governor and hon. graduate of the University of Manchester. _He served in France and Belgium during the war. He was the author of a number of publications, one of the most popular being "Bough Justice," which made its appearance in 1926. "Bight Off the Map" was published last year.
