HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
A meeting of the Wellington Hockey Association was held last night, Mr. IV J. Atkinson presiding. As the Basin Reserve will be iv use on Monday, it was decided to play the • representative match between Wellington and a team from the combined Universities at Karori Park. The Universities of Tlew Zealand will be in Wellington at the Universities' hockey tournament, and a team will be selected from these players. An appeal was received from the Huia Club protesting against the win of Y.M.C.A'. over Huia in the intermediate grade match played on 19th May, in which Y.M.G.A. won by 3 goals to 1. It was claimed by Huia that V.M.C.A. replaced a man in the second half of the game without obtaining the consent of the captain of the other team or the referee. After inquiry, however, it was found that V.M.C.A. had sent off one of their players just before half-time, as there were twelve V.M.C.A. men playing. The appeal of the Huia Club was upheld, however, and a re-play of the match was ordered.
