MAINTENANCE CASE^
♦ .. Maintenance cases in the Magistrate's Court yesterday were dealt with by Mr. K. Page, S.M. In arrears to the extent of £-10 10s on an order for the support of a child, Thomas John M'lntosh was sentenced to three months' imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended so long as he pays £1 5s a week. Charged with being £27 12s in arrears on an order in respect of his wife, Humbert Patrick Smith was sentenced to two months' imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended so long as he pays £1 2s 6d a week. A similar sentence was imposed upon him for being £8 10s in arrears on an order for his son. So long as he pays 12s 6d a week the warrant is to be suspended. Sentences of two months' imprisonment were imposed oh Claude Clarence Hawthorne on charges of being £10 and £5 in arrears on orders for the support of his wife and child. The warrant is to be suspended in each case so long as he pays £1 5s a week on his wife's order, and 15s a week on the order for his child.
