Details of the King's Empire Trophy for miniature rifle shooting show that Canada is first with an average of 79.21 out of 100; South Africa, second with 78.03; Britain, third, with 71.05; New Zealand, fourth with 63.93. Australia did not qualify. Her entry was 3208 compared with! South Africa's 13,000, New Zealand's" 5028, . and Canada's 4564. Silver and bronze medals for scores above 07 were awarded 239 Canadians, DO ' Australians, and 6 JSTew Zealanders. Thei Naval Reserve, Newcastle,. Australia, won the senior Imperial Challenge Shield with 98.76, heading ten Australians in the honours list. The Royal Australian Naval Reserve, Edgecliffe, was sixth, with 95.95, and Launceston was eighth with 94.51. : New Zealand, scored seven honours, headed by the C Company of 'the Second Battalion, Whangarei, with 86.97. Disappointment has been expressed at the diminution in Australian and New Zealand competitors.
