'VARSITY'S NARROW WIN. 'Varsity and Karon wrc well matched, but the students were on the aggressive throughout the first spell. Within a few minutes of the commencement of play, 'Varsity opened their score. The Karori backs relieved and play went to the 'Varsity area for a while. Good work by the 'Varsity defence sent the leather back to the Karori territory and thereafter until the end of the spell was in the Karori half, the Black's custodian doing good work. 'Varsity netted twice in the second spell, and Karori put on a similar'number of goals, but were unable to equalise, the game ending: 'Varsity 3, Karori 2. MTJonald (2) and MTJuff scored for 'Varsity, and Watchman and Hemsely for Karori. Mr. J. C. Cusack was the referee. A RUNNAWAY VICTORY. Petone were no match for Wesley, who managed to score 9 goals to their opponents' 1. Throughout the first spell play centred about the Petone circle, and the half-time score was 5-nil in Wesley's favour. The suburban team put up a good defence in the second half, but the Wesley forward line had little difficulty in scoring a further 4 goals, while Petone were able to score only once. The scorers for Wesley were Turner (5), Strong (2), Butcher, and Stokes, and for Petone Bullen. M. A. Edwards refereed. TRAINING COLLEGE WIN. Training College proved too strong for V.M.C.A. at Newtown Park, the final score reading three goals to one in favour of the students. At half-time the tally read: Training College 2, V.M.C.A. I; but in the second spell Training College increased their score without V.M.C.A. registering at all. Milan was., the scorer for V.M.C.A. LADIES' GAMES. Senior A.
