BRITANNIA THEATRE.
"ironic Made," a First National picture, with Johnny Ilincs, ■comedian, is the attraction at the Britannia Theatre. Johnny is presented in the role of an "old-fashioned mother's boy," who becomes a successful salesman 'in his clYorts to create a market for lib mother's home-made preserves. And this road to success is sprinkled generously with moments of genuine hilarity. Bessie Love in "A Harp in Hock" is the second feature. The story deals with it Jewish pawnbroker in the Ghetto of New Yorlc, who adopts a motherless Irish boy—a comradeship that involved both In trouble later. There are numerous scenes of great dramatic strength, that of the riot beins especially impressive. There is a remarkably well balanced admixture of drania and comedy. The dancing of Bessie Love and Mr. Striker in the cabaret evokes applause. The supports' are excellent, and include comedy, gazette, and scenic.
