PORT NICHOLSON BAND.

It would bo difficult to offer a more attractive programme than that announced for pro-, sentatlon in the Grand Opera House to-mor-row night by tho Port Nicholson Band, and tho talented artists who have been obtained. The management have been fortunate in getting the services of several brilliant artists new' to Wellington Sunday concerts. Miss Marjorie Cadman, a mezzo-soprano who has sung at the principal concert halls in England, will be heard in the choicest numbers from her extensive- repertoire; Mr. Ernest Short, a brilliant baritone whose versatility has been tho keynoto to his success, he having sung in comic opera and oratorios, and for nearly every choral society throughout the Dominion, as^wcll as with Mr. Arthur Gordon, will sing •■ "Tho Sergeant-Major." Miss Mona Carrlck, a young cultured contralto, will be heard in "My Am Folk." The Maori Quartet (the Love Family) will be heard In harmony and rare Maori melodies, including instrumental and vocal items, mid will render the bracketed numbers "Kohala" (march) and n Maori lullaby, "Hlno Ehinc." The soloist will lie Miss Mona Love. Also on thu- bill is Mr. Jack MacUonald (appearing by tho courtesy of the management of Paramount Theatre), one of tho foremost xyloplumists in the Dominion. He will play "The Double Kagle." Miss Ivy Bell will be the accompanist. The band items will Include the hymn "lkmiiiKIdii," overture, "Ilnydee"; humorcsquc, "Cows in the Cotton": and the man-lies "The Invincible Euklc," -and "Port Nicholson" (dedicated to the band by Mr. Archie Don).
