A cigarette ' burn on the dining-room tablecloth is both annoying and unsightly. Tb mend it, fray the edges round the hole i\s neatly as jmssible, and, having robbed a piece of material from the hcin of the cloth, place, this underneath ami fix in position with a strip of adhesive plaster. With a moderately warm. iron press through a shccfcxof brown paper, arid then stand a heavy weight over the mend and loavo for at least two hours so that the plaster can stick firmly and the material edges weld themselves together neatly. '.
