NEW GERMAN EXPRESS LINERS.
According to the New York "Journal of Commerce," the two new North German Lloyd liners, which are under construction, will be launched in June. They are, it is stated, to be 937 ft in length, and about 46,000 tons gross, and will have a speed of about 27% knots. The propelling machinery is to consist of geared turbines, and the estimated cost of the vessels'is 11,500,000 dollars each. The suggestion is added that provision may possibly be made on board for aeroplanes, by means of which voyages may bo shortened for either special mails, or passengers who desire to save time and arc prepared to pay for it.
