SPEEDY TORPEDO CRAFT.
John I. Thornycroft and Company, Ltd., who recently launched the- second of the six destroyers which they are building for Chili, have, >in their day, had many notable successes with speedy torpedo crart. They built the Amazon—tho largest and fastest destroyer coustructed since the Armistice—which achieved a speed of 37.98 knots on her official trials. During- the war they built tho Teazer, which attained tho highest officially recorded speed of any destroyer, namely, 40.22 knots. Many of their famous coastal motor-boats have also been phenomenally speedy.
