SECONDARY SCHOOLS
A match between the combined Secondary Schools of Wellington and the Third Grade representatives was played at Kilbirnie on Saturday. The schools took their tally to 344 before tliey declared their innings closed, the principal scorers being Clay 174, M'Leun 75 not out, Atkins 34, and Dryhberg 23. Rain put an end to the match when the Third Grade team's total stood at 191 for the loss of six wickets, Gentry 89, Richards 40 not out, and Kittlety 21, being tho mainstays of the side. The Senior Boys' League and the second eleven match resulted in a win by 19 runs on the first innings for the Secondary Schools, of which Rooke 57 and Thomas 25 ■\vero the chief batsmen to help bring the totnl to 160. The Senior Boys took their score to 141 in reply, Williams (42) and Handscomb (25) being the top scorers. The third eleven match was won by tho Intermediate Boys' League with a total of 189 runs, Liddicoat (43) and Lajnack (26) being the main scorers. The third eleven made 68 in tho first innings and 147 in the scend.
