REPAIRS TO CAR
AN UNSUCCESSFUL CLAIM Au action involving a claim for £22 4b was heard before Mr. E. Page, S.M., on Thursday, when 6. A. Symons, quarry foreman, for whom Mr. K. E. Pope appeared, sued T. M. Burke, garage proprietor, represented by Mr. A. B. Sicvwright. It was alleged that the differential of a car belonging to Symons had been repaired at the defendant's garage in July, 1927, and that in the following November it broke down where it had been repaired. The plaintiff alleged unskilful work and negligence. The defence claimed that '. :ork had been carefully carried out, I. .. 'the car was a light one, that no eoiu,'..iint waa made for six months, and accordingly any further repairs that were required were rendered necessary by subsequent use and wear. After hearing lengthy evidence the Magistrate entered judgment for the defendant, with costs amounting to £5 Os.
